A smashing old school locals pub with an impressive beer range listed by JAQPTIO below, my Abbeydale Deception was nicely kept. Certainly this pub is in the top tree Rugby pubs for me and would demand a visit anytime I found myself in town.

First visit to this fine two bar wedge shaped pub and it rounded off an excellent crawl of the six Rugby town centre pubs in the GBG2024 (or it would have done if we hadn’t broken the walk back to the station by popping back into The Seven Stars for a cheeky last half. )
Still a proper two room set up with a functional public bar with pool table and large screen for the sports and then a much more comfortable lounge and snug room accessed by it own entrance further down the road. There are also a couple of screens in the lounge, but they are not intrusive, and I would have ignored them completely if it wasn’t for the gentlemen we sat next to getting wound up by Manchester United’s performance in their most recent Champions League game.
Several hand pumps spread between the two bars and the ales available were those as described in JAQPTIO’s review below. If I had a complaint, it would be that there were no dark beers on and my quest to go dark throughout a cold winter’s day was thwarted right at the end. But I was more than happy to have the Oakham Citra by way of solace, and it also was also on fine form.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Victoria
First revisit to this splendid wedge-shaped side-street pub with a Camra National Inventory heritage interior for 14 years. Was previously one of two outlets for the local Atomic Brewery (along with the former Alexandra Arms), but I'm not sure that this is still the case? Anyway, it thankfully remains the proper old-fashioned local that I remember, although it seems to have been given a sensitive refurbishment at some stage. We found Hooky, Abbeydale Deception, Jaipur, Citra and Acorn's seasonal Cracker (in good form) available from five of the six handpumps in one bar, with a sign indicating Abbeydale Heathen and Clwb Tropica from Tiny Rebel being served in the other.
