A smashing old school locals pub with an impressive beer range listed by JAQPTIO below, my Abbeydale Deception was nicely kept. Certainly this pub is in the top tree Rugby pubs for me and would demand a visit anytime I found myself in town.

First visit to this fine two bar wedge shaped pub and it rounded off an excellent crawl of the six Rugby town centre pubs in the GBG2024 (or it would have done if we hadn’t broken the walk back to the station by popping back into The Seven Stars for a cheeky last half. )
Still a proper two room set up with a functional public bar with pool table and large screen for the sports and then a much more comfortable lounge and snug room accessed by it own entrance further down the road. There are also a couple of screens in the lounge, but they are not intrusive, and I would have ignored them completely if it wasn’t for the gentlemen we sat next to getting wound up by Manchester United’s performance in their most recent Champions League game.
Several hand pumps spread between the two bars and the ales available were those as described in JAQPTIO’s review below. If I had a complaint, it would be that there were no dark beers on and my quest to go dark throughout a cold winter’s day was thwarted right at the end. But I was more than happy to have the Oakham Citra by way of solace, and it also was also on fine form.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Victoria

First revisit to this splendid wedge-shaped side-street pub with a Camra National Inventory heritage interior for 14 years. Was previously one of two outlets for the local Atomic Brewery (along with the former Alexandra Arms), but I'm not sure that this is still the case? Anyway, it thankfully remains the proper old-fashioned local that I remember, although it seems to have been given a sensitive refurbishment at some stage. We found Hooky, Abbeydale Deception, Jaipur, Citra and Acorn's seasonal Cracker (in good form) available from five of the six handpumps in one bar, with a sign indicating Abbeydale Heathen and Clwb Tropica from Tiny Rebel being served in the other.

Great looking anvil shaped pub reminiscent of the Baltic Fleet in Liverpool. The sister pub to the Alexandra Arms, both owned by Atomic brewery. The first part of the bar you come to is effectively the tap room and has a dominant pool table. The other rooms cannot be accessed from this room, you need to enter through the next doorway further along the same street. This area has a comfortable lounge and snug. A good range of ales including two from Atomic alongside a large number of guests. I tried two of them and both were in excellent condition. A very good pub and one I'll visit again when in Rugby. Quite rightly listed in the CAMRA GBG 2014.

This is a great, multi-roomed traditional pub run by the Atomic Brewery who operate out of the Alexandra Arms. The pub has a corner location which has given it a wedge shape, most notable in the public bar which you access through the corner door. There are some lovely decorative windows with heavy red curtains, a few old pictures on the walls and access to the servery on the back wall. The room is dominated by the pool table and a TV screen was on showing a 24 hour news channel. To access the rest of the pub, you need to head back outside and enter through the door further along Lower Hillmorton Road. This takes you into a carpeted lounge with a larger bar to the left under a stained glass canopy and with a mirrored bar back and decent looking counter. The room has some fancy wallpaper for decoration, although this was fighting for attention with copious amounts of World Cup bunting that didn't do the room any favours. Some long, comfy banquettes run around the front corner, back wall and opposite the bar and there were some back editions of the Good Beer Guide propped up behind them. The decorative windows are in evidence here too, with stained glass arcs above them and there were a couple of TV screens, again showing rolling news. To the right, a door leads into a small room with bare boards, a nice fireplace and anaglypta walls, where you can find some limited bench and low stool seating, a collection of Atomic pump clips and various CAMRA certificates. One final room, denoted 'Snug' on the stained glass door, can be accessed from here. There are standard tables and chairs within, a fireplace with an oval mirror above and a dartboard. The walls are decorated with framed covers of 'Illustrated London News' and there is an unusual two part M&B sign on show as well. To the rear, there is a rather basic concrete garden with a smoking shelter at the far end.
The bar was well stocked, with a long row of hand pumps offering Atomic Strike and Fusion, Allgates Napoleon's Return and Pretoria, Hook Norton Hooky, Blakemere Gold and Hit & Run, Wold Top Anglers Return and Milestone Lionheart, plus Old Rosie cider. I tried the Anglers Return which was an enjoyable pint.
This place has the winning combination of a classic, traditional interior and a strong range of well kept ale that makes it an essential port of call when in town. I thought this was arguably the most attractive pub visited on our Rugby crawl and could imagine enjoying a good, long session in here.

The Victoria is a nice looking wedged shaped pub that is away from the town centre.
Once inside the narrow end of the pub is a public bar with a pool table in the middle and a couple of pumps on the bar,i decided to go into the lounge, this is a much larger oblong shaped room, there was some very comfy bench seating to the right which faced the bar and small stools, the room is carpeted, there were a couple of other small rooms off the main lounge to the right,i did'nt look in these rooms.
There was a very good selection of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Atomic Fusion which was a very nice well kept beer, the other beers i noted were Atomic Spectrum /Dark Matter,Milestone Loxley Ale,Abbeydale Deception and Hook Norton bitter, there were many more i failed to note.
This is a very pleasant pub,one i could stay in for a session.

Multi-roomed gem that is the sister pub of the Alexandra (both owned by the Atomic brewery). Tight, wedge-shaped corner pub with attractive (if somewhat fading) red white and blue external livery. Two rooms are served by a single bar, with a couple of other rooms accessed to the rear side. It appears that a number of original features remain in situ. Look out for the stained glass window uppers. Rugby theme prevails, with a number of framed pictures to the rear. A plethora of ales available - I sampled one from Atomic which was in good nick. Darts and pool noted. To the rear is a basic patio. Make sure you do this one.

A great looking Victorian street corner local with a flat iron shape. The door at the apex opens into a public bar with bareboards and a few handpumps but if you want to see the full real ale range pop next door into the larger lounge with it's own flatscreen. The etched glass windows are very pleasing and off the lounge there are two seperate rooms, one a snug, both with authentic features.Outside there is a drinking yard for a fag.Owned by the same people who run both The Alex and the Atomic Brewery so expect to see some of their output together with a wide variety of guest ales from far and wide from the 10 handpumps .A regular in the GBG and also worth visiting to explore the interior, this was a very comfortable stop on the crawl and should not be missed by beer tourists if visiting Rugby. There is also a strong local following for this charming pub.

Thuck Phat left this review about Victoria Inn

The Vic has long been a stalwart of Rugby's healthy real ale scene with it's reputation only having been enhanced by Atomic Brewery's acquisition of the pub in 2007.
There are detailed descriptions below so I'll limit my contribution to saying that there are two rooms - a lounge and bar - with televisions in each. These are well used for sporting events so you'll find both rugby and footy on during winter Saturday afternoons and you take your choice. The rest of the time the tvs remain silent.
The atmosphere is of a well used and friendly local. It's a nice place to be and relatively easy to get into general conversation if you're on your own and fancy it.
Atomic brew at the Alex which isn't far from here but they swap much of their production with other micros so, whilst you'll find some of their offerings here, you'll also come across whatever they may have swapped the most recent batch for. My most recent visit found:Atomic Power and Radiation, Hook Norton Hooky, Fullers ESB, Vale Special, Great Orme Cambria, Youngs Bitter, Archers WGV and Grafton Lady Ruby. That's a fair selection but I still struggled to find a beer to stay on and was slightly underwhelmed by the presence of Youngs and Hooky. Nevertheless it's always worth a visit to see what's on, there's always a wide selection and it's invariably all in good condition.
An excellent boozer and well worth the short walk from the town centre if visiting Rugby.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Victoria Inn

If you like a good traditional pub with a good range of well kept ales, then you can't miss this gem out. We tried to stay in here for as long as possible before making the ten minute dash down to the station.
There were 9 handpumps to choose from on our visit. I went for the Atomic Half Life and one of my favourite brewers Cross Bay Sunset. Pub opens at 4pm during the week.
