Graham Coombs left this review about Holly Hill Inn

A roadside inn just south of Richmond, but don't try and walk unless you like hills. The inside has had a bit of a modern facelift, which doesn't do much for me, but otherwise it is pleasant enough. The right hand side is the hotel and dining area, while the left hand is the bar and an adjoining room with a dartboard. On handpump were TT Landlord and Wensleydale Behind the Mask and Gamekeeper; the latter was past its best.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about Holly Hill Inn

The Holly Hill Inn is perched well above Richmond town centre, with the garden affording fine views of the Castle and the town itself.

Inside, there is a bar area to the left, sub-divided into two and a larger dining area to the right-hand side on entering from the road. A few locals were congregated in the one part of the bar area, but none attempted to enter into any conversation and neither did we!

The regular beer is Timothy Taylor Landlord. Guests on our visit were Theakston Best Bitter & Wensleydale Yellow Pearl. There was no real cider. The pub does offer accommodation, but at £120 a night, we were priced out of the equation.

Will Larter left this review about Holly Hill Inn

A roadside pub at the top of the hill which overlooks Richmond Castle, but presumably out of range of whatever siege engines might have been available at the time. The pub proudly boasts a beer garden which gets the sun all day long, and it looks like they might have purchased a field from the neighbouring farm in order to fulfil this ambition. The car park is also of a decent size, and if it had stopped raining long enough I could tell you whether the sun shone on it. In the end I had to make a dash for the back door despite the shower. Once inside there's a neat little bar counter with four hand pumps serving two beers: Timothy Taylor Landlord and local Wensleydale Gamekeeper, which was pretty good. One of the locals chatted to me for a bit, and his place was taken by two or three others who chatted to each other: it's a chatty sort of pub. The rain stopped long enough for me to take a photo of the view towards the castle. Seems like about 500 yards - probably 15th century artillery wouldn't have made it.
