Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Cutlers Arms

Quite a grand pub, formerly a Stones house as evidenced by some of the decorative stonework and coloured glazing (and still in much better shape than the long-closed next-door Alma). The 'L'-shaped main bar (with an extra side seating area and small stage) and more comfortable (but empty) lounge bar have retained a number of heritage features too, although much of decor is otherwise quite plain. Rear patio terrace. Now run by Chantry Brewery, I found a full range of nine ales from a total of 13 handpumps, including a decent Diamond Black Stout (£2.50).

Visited this 2016 Good Beer Guide pub on a CAMRA coach tour, and enjoyed beers from the selection of 6 Chantry beers, plus an Abbeydale beer available. There are also real ciders. It is featured in CAMRA's National Inventory of Pub Interiors, and has been well described below.

This fine Edwardian pub was nearly lost back in 2004 as part of the plans to redevelop the New York waterside area of town, but thankfully campaigners were able to get the property listed, partly as a result of its relatively unspoiled interior. Built in 1907 on the site of two previous pubs, the Cutlers Arms is now one of the leading lights in Rotherham's tentative real ale scene thanks in part to its association with the local Chantry brewery. The pub still retains a good deal of its original features, although rather frustratingly, the right hand side has been opened up a good deal, losing some of the intimacy it might otherwise have enjoyed. You enter through a small porch with stained glass 'Cutlers Arms' panes overhead, into a classic Yorkshire terrazzo floored lobby with the bar over to the left. The servery has a pleasant, curved wooden counter and modern, stained glass Chantry Brewery canopy and serves the lobby and front public bar which is fitted with long banquettes, a smart fireplace and high shelves displaying a collection of bottles. The front windows are perhaps the pub's most striking feature, each with coloured stained glasswork in floral designs with the pub's name, 'Wines and Spirits' and 'Cannon Ales' spelled out across them. The lobby, which extends slightly to the rear where is picks up a corridor leading to the toilets, has some lovely original green glazed tiles, contrasted with modern wallpaper in places. To the right there is a small seating area with modern red padded banquettes around the perimeter, a small fireplace on the end wall and a few old black and white photos on show. To the rear of the bar is perhaps the least appealing area which hosts another long banquette down the back wall under some frosted windows and in the left corner there is a dartboard and a small performance area for live music acts. A remarkably tatty and unappealing garden can be found out the back, where I noticed a BBQ area, a large trailer converted into some sort of stage and a lot of ropey garden furniture.
Chantry beers dominate the bar, with Mighty Millers, Diamond Black, Women of Steel, New York Pale, Stellos Pale, Iron and Steel and 18 Eight all available, plus guests in the shape of Raw Blonde Pale Ale and Lincoln Green Tuck. Two real ciders rounded out a pretty good range, detailed across various boards. My pint of the Women of Steel was pretty good, if not my favourite pint of the day.
I was really pleasantly surprised by this place which in which I'd hoped to satisfy myself with a good ale range but ended up equally enjoying the period surroundings. This is well worth visiting, especially for football fans heading to a match at the nearby New York Stadium, and is a much needed boost for the Rotherham pub scene.
