The Ruddington arms is located at the far end of the village on Wilford lane as you are driving out and is the first/last point of call when doing the rounds of Ruddington pubs. Formerly the Jolly Farmers The Ruddington arms has been completely revamped with a £290,000 refurbishment. It now has a modern open plan interior with a centrally located bar and seating all around. The decor is the typical modern gastro pub type deal with lots of shiny wood and bright paint colours. To its credit this is one of the more tasteful revamp and more time and money has gone into this one that many I have seen but it still doesn’t beat the traditional feel that I am confident works better in village pubs like these. There were four ales on the bar and as is the case with Star/Heineken pubs these days there is usually Edinburgh Castle re badged for the pub. Indeed this was the case and this time it was called Ruddy Good Ale at £3.30 and this was a nice well-kept pint. The other choices were Harvest pale, Portobello Chestnut ale and Adnams Broadsid. We sat on a nice comfy sofa and had a nice time with our drinks in a pleasant if not a little tame atmosphere as this is defiantly not a boozer and is aimed at the more affluent well do drinker which I don’t like that much but this was one of the better examples and the bar staff were very helpful and informative. Our last point of call and a nice place to finish the night with a good beer. One of many good pubs in Ruddington to venture to if ever around these parts.

When i first went in this pub is was called the Jolly Farmers and was an Home Ales tied house with a very nice drink of Home Bitter on the bar.
The pub has now had a large refurbishment and has been renamed to The Ruddington Arms.
Once inside the pub has been opened out but still retains different areas, the bar faces on entry, the front area wraps around the bar on three sides, the floor is part carpeted and tiled, the seating is normal tables and chairs to the right and a few tall tables and chairs to the left, the room extends to the rear left which is more of a dining area.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Harvest Pale which went down well, the other beers were Wychwood Imperial Red,Everards Richard the Third Blue Boar and a house beer called RA Bitter.
The pub was very busy with upmarket drinkers in the front area.
This is a decent enough pub but far too upmarket for my liking.
