The open plan Rutland Arms has a U shaped bar on the rear wall that supports standard and premium keg alongside Beavertown’s Neck Oil. I went for a Guinness that was well served by the woman working behind the bar. Her North London twang and the presence of a Potters Bar London Underground Roundel on the wall led me to believe that she was the landlady. There is a pool table and dartboard, and the space between the bar and the entrance is sparsely furnished, maybe it is a dance floor? This would fit with my view that this is more of a weekend bar.

Looks more upmarket from the street that belies the nature of the partly opened-out interior (which retains various seating areas but no character, unfortunately). Draught real ale has made itself absent too, although a few bottles from the Marston's stable are offered. However, I went for a quick pint of Smooth (£2.60) before moving on.

The Rutland Arms Hotel is a large pub that is just round the corner from the Fox & Crown.
When i first went in this pub it was a John Smiths tied house with no real ale on,the pub now sports the old Mansfield Brewery signage.
Once inside it has been opened out into one large room, the bar faces on entry, the main area is L shaped and part carpeted and bare boarded, there is a pool table on a raised area to the front left, the rear right area is up a couple of steps.
There were two real ales on the bar,we had a drink of Pedigree which was a decent enough drink, the other beer was Mansfield cask.
There was background music playing and lots of TVs showing football and cricket.
This seemed a decent enough pub to have a drink in.
