Last time I visited Norwich in February 2019, this was my favourite pub. So, I made sure to pay a return visit this time around.
As with a few other pubs, it didn't seem quite as good. It's a fairly small place, but with real ales and craft beers. The choice yesterday was Adnams Ghost Ship, Three Blind Mice Raspberry & Vanilla Porter & Signature Brew Roadie. The cider was Snail's Bank Orchard Dry, whilst craft beers came from Lost & Grounded, Brew By Numbers, Hammerton, Burnt Mill, Vault City & The White Hag.
Still a decent option to find some unusual beers, especially if you enjoy craft beer. But after several other decent pubs, this wasn't my favourite on this visit.

By the time we reached this, the seventh pub on our tour of Norwich, I was perhaps a little fatigued by the incredible amount of choice. Whatever the reason, I was considerably less impressed by the Plasterers than the Duke of Wellington or the Kings Head. My notes say "nice back street local", but clearly others have seen more in it than that. Certainly there is no lack of choice, with 10 real ales and a cider, but sometimes I find myself wishing for just a hand pump or two with a reliably well kept ordinary bitter - a sort of palate cleanser before the next amuse bouche.

The Plasterers is a tremendous and atmospheric street corner local which attracts much wider support.
The pub is quite compact with the bar in the centre and the main area surrounding it. There's also a small room behind the bar and another at the back of the pub.
It's traditional in style but feels welcoming and well looked after with dried flowers displayed in colourful craft beer tins on every table. There's also a telly in the left hand corner which had the rugby on during our early evening visit.
At the back is a kitchen where Voodoo Daddy pizzas are based. They operate independently of the pub and produce very good, adventurous, stone baked pizzas. It's worth visiting for these alone.
The welcome from both staff and locals is friendly and they really know their beer here.
On handpump was: Oakham JHB, Golden Triangle City Gold, Moongazer Topis Tipple, People's Imperial Stout, Hammerton N1, Siren Vermont Tea Party, Humpty Dumpty Shaltai Boltai, Totally Brewed Punch in the Face IPA, Abbeydale Frolicker, Wild Weather BA Strawberries, Electric Bear NZ Pale and Lacons Oatmeal Stout. A great range with many different styles and some local breweries represented. A subsequent visit found the range just as good, if not better. Everything I tried was excellent.
There's also an extensive menu of wines, spirits, canned and bottled beers.
My favourite of those I visited in Norwich.
