Garish typically Indian interior in what was clearly once a standard street corner London pub which now has Punjabi artwork, Bollywood posters and suchlike. Good to see however that it can continue its life in this now virtually exclusively Asian suburb, and a decent job they have done with it. Still like a traditional pub in layout, two bars, one with a couple of pool tables, but with no real ale obviously, and serving the usual restaurant known Indian lagers. Friendly staff though, possibly slightly bemused by my entrance, anyway there were Indian bar food and snacks available at very attractive prices from the food hatch.
A sign on the outside claims this to be the only UK pub that accepts Rupees.
Worth a look in for the novelty value at least.

This is probably the gaudiest pub I have ever been in as it full of Indian art, religious symbols and lots of mirrors. It seems that a bit of effort has been put in to the pub, it’s just a shame that I felt far from welcome on my recent visit. The service couldn’t have been any more laboured and I felt like I was being out of order daring to drag the guy behind the bar away from his conversation with the three locals in attendance.

There is a standard draught selection available along with Cobra and Kingfisher on tap, maybe some Indian fayre is available, but I didn’t spot any menus. There is a plasma screen and a projector screen in an ornate frame to go with the pub décor. Cricket was being shown via Sky Sports and there is a separate room to the left of the bar which houses three pool tables. There is live entertainment on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and these nights also have late closing.

The Guinness was good, but I don’t plan on visiting here again.
