Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Brook

Very recently renamed from the Royal Oak, this place has been comprehensively refurbished both inside and out with a mix of semi-modern and semi-traditional styles in the various seating areas on three sides of the island counter area and rooms further back. Pleasant rear patio beer garden (with a bit of shelter, if required). Three real ales - Hophead (£4.40), Tribute and Titanic Plum Porter - two ciders and a perry available from what is now two banks of three handpumps. Some interesting craft keg beers are also offered too, and much to my surprise this new incarnation proved to be the best of the famous Griffin Park four for a beer.

This was the final pub of the "Griffin Park Four" for me to complete as my previous visit had seen this establishment closed. Now re-opened, I've become the completest I wanted to be, but this probably isn't the pub I was expecting. Entering from the Brook Road entrance, you walk into a smallish rectangular room with the bar counter facing. There's a dartboard against the wall to the bar's left and a wall-mounted touchscreen jukebox to the right of the entrance door, outward-facing. No ale on the bar, but Sharp's Atlantic and Doom Bar were spotted beyond the bar in a darkened area out back (as I realised the bar was actually an island bar). An OK-ish Doom Bar was £3.00 and I decided to decamp to the patio beer garden as the clutch of characters around the bar, in cohorts with the barmaid seemed a bit rum. Always great to be able to actually make a visit to a pub that had previously been shut, but, like PSM, I can't see myself troubling this one again.

Popped into this pub after watching a game at nearby Griffin Park. This is one of the four pubs located roughly on each corner of the stadium and as such, it was full of Brentford fans when we walked in. The pub has a multi room layout and is furnished in what would now qualify as a retro style, but in reality is the same stuff that's been in here for the last few decades. This gives the impression of having a drink in someone's living room, but not in a good way.
I've subsequently heard that this isn't the friendliest pub in Brentford for away fans to stumble into, but the locals left us alone and one even congratulated us on how well our team played, so I can't have any complaints. Having said that, we didn't fancy exploring the various rooms, so I can't detail the interior too well.
A large screen was showing muted Champions League highlights whilst a jukebox played an eclectic mix of tunes ranging from Nirvana to Vivaldi, the latter prompting a chant of 'We want our jukebox back' from the regulars.
Unfortunately there was no ale on, but they did offer John Smith's or Courage Best on draught. My pint of Best was served in the obligatory plastic glass.
An odd place, and one perhaps better experienced on a non match day, but the lack of decent beer means that I'm fairly unlikely to give this place a second chance.
