Huge historic pub in the middle of the most affluent area of Merseyside - naturally Stonegate have turned it into a downmarket soulless chain bar that could be on any high street anywhere in the country. Four unavailable real ales with clips not turned around for some unknown reason. I ended up with a Moorhouses beer that was decent enough. To be honest its a soul destroying place, and a total waste of its location.

This is a very large pub with many different offshoots within. Outside it is a hideous green colour and inside it could do with a freshening up as its a bit tatty. That said its ok but could, and should, be a lot better.
