This small Shep Neame pub sits between the Phoenix and The Colonies and was probably my favourite of the three, although I probably didn’t see it at its best when visiting on a busy after work evening session when it was standing room only both inside and outside on the pavement.
The pleasant small traditional dark wood exterior is carried on inside the small carpeted bar with a traditional wooden bar frontage and full dark wood panelling at both ends of the room.
Master Brew, Spitfire, Whitstable Pale Ales and Samuel Adams Blond Ambition, Sheps seasonal collaboration with the Boston brewer, were on the four pumps.

Small Shepherd Neame pub which was quite pleasant even though it was busy. I managed to get a seat and read my paper whilst enjoying the Spitfire. Would return.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Cask & Glass

Very cosy little Shepherd Neame pub with a wonderful relaxed atmosphere at a quiet time, but very different when the nearby offices close (although the service is still very efficient). Traditional furniture and decor, with a couple of patio tables out front. The beer from the four handpumps is always excellent, with Master Brew, Whitstable Bay and Spitfire (£4.35) available on this visit. Well worth seeking out.
