Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Grey Friar (JD Wetherspoon)
Large, split-level, building with a modern exterior but a fairly traditional look inside. Small front terrace. Used to have a good selection of real ales from the two banks of five handpumps, although only Oakham JHB, Darwins Origin from Salopian (£2.46) and Windsor & Eton's Guardsman were available on this visit in addition to the usual trio of Ruddles, Doom Bar and Abbot.

Workaday Spoons housed in what looks like Gordon Britass's leisure centre. Big plate glass windows for light, not exactly a stunning view from the raised seating area though. Five guests, Great Newsome Mild a bit long pour (NBSS 2.5). Food a bit so-so as well (and these days I am a Wethergrub connoisseur). Felt a bit depressing overall, needs an overhaul. The Twelve Tellers is the better JDW in town.

I tried to have a breakfast here before the PuG crawl of Preston started. Seven or eight awaiting service at the bar and one girl serving. Pathetic.
