Well described by others below, it’s a good local pub which hasn’t been ruined by the tourist trade. Only one ale on, St Austell Trinity, but it was in good condition and enjoyed in convivial surroundings. There was also a Lilley’s cider on draft. I quite like it here so am likely to return, and I’d include on a crawl.

An unpretentious locals' pub - something of a relief from touristy Bath. The front room with a compact bar opens into two areas - a 'library effect' part with a carpet, and a raised area with darts and sports screens. Outside were a few tables on the pavement, and a large hole where a utility company seemed determined to prevent access to the pub. Cabaret was provided by the locals (some interpretation needed but they seemed happy). The handpump was badged as St Austell Trinity, whatever that is but it was nice enough. No great place to look at but a bonus score for feeling like a proper pub.

An attractive looking pub and very inviting looking when making our way back to the train station. The pub is well kept and had a new pool table near the bar area. Nothing to write home about beerwise, two handpumps dispensing Bellringer and two pumps with Doombar. They must have got extra pumpclips and put them on their empty pumps.
