Rex Rattus left this review about The Warren Inn

This pub is essentially unchanged since the previous reviewer's visit, except that it's now not so newly decorated, and the staff and customers seemed fairly friendly - and there was a guest ale on. The pool table's still there, although it had been moved and covered over for the ladies' darts match that was taking place when we arrived for a bite to eat on a weekday evening. There were prints of various aircraft on the walls, plenty of bric a brac around the place, and a large brick built fireplace stood in splendid isolation in the middle of the room. As stated by others, there's a large garden and a reasonably sized car park.

The Shepherd Neame ales on were Spitfire (£3.80 a pint) and Gold Master Brew, with Hyde's Rising Sun as the guest ale. The food was standard pub grub (I'm glad to say), which was homemade and came in large portions. Main meals were £8 or so.

I liked it in here. The beer and food were good; the people in there seemed friendly enough; and the furnishings being standard tables and chairs made it a comfortable place for an evening meal and a couple of pints.

A nice old Shepherd and Neame roadside pub with car park, garden and outside smoking pavilion. Inside appeared to be recently decorated, with new furniture and a carpeted floor. Food was limited, and I found the locals very cliquey, while the staff seemed a bit lacking in warmth. Inside was quite dark, while the jukebox grated a bit. I didn't feel welcome here, and I'm not sure why - maybe it was because of the emphasis placed on darts matches rather than solo visitors. There is normally a guest ale on, but no this time. I had a pint of Masterbrew which was in good condition and most enjoyable as a pint. Worth dropping in if passing, and I would include in a town crawl, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to visit here as there are better pubs nearby.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Warren Inn

Traditional and old-fashioned (in a good sense) sort of place on the A259 at the northern edge of New Romney. Two small bars, the main one 'L'-shaped and mostly populated by regulars on stools plus a few dining tables and a pool table covered by a board when not in use. Limited amount of seating in the little back bar, supplemented by a couple of additional tables in a cosy hidden alcove off to one side. Very welcome log fire, and some old photographs on the wall which indicate that the pub originally only occupied the end weatherboarded section on the town end of a more substantial house which is now partially incorporated into the public area of the combined building. Beer garden behind the car park, but certainly not the weather to investigate! Three Shepherd Neame beers on handpump - Master Brew, Spitfire and a very nice pint of Late Red (£3.20).
