After a brief walk around the town, we headed up the hill to the George, which is close to Forest Green Rovers' football ground.
The pub has a fairly plain interior, with tables also available outdoors at the front. Toilets have now been turned unisex and are upstairs.
Uley Bitter is the regular ale. The guest beer was Clavell & Hind Blunder Buss.
Locals indoors were a bit lively, but not excessively so. One was engaging in a game of Monopoly with what was presumably his daughter. Another was the landlord himself.
Certainly the friendlier of the two pubs I tried in Nailsworth.

Lovely pub, hidden away from the town. Great food and an ambience of welcome.
