Pubs with the Taylor Walker brand are ten a penny in London, but as far as I know the Palmeira and the Sussex in Brighton are the only two in East Sussex. Being Taylor Walker branded the Palmeira has a traditional wooden interior and food from the ‘Great British Menu’ is served daily from noon until 21:00. The spacious bar area is L shaped with a selection of standard draught products alongside Staropramen and eight hand pumps. These were drawing two each of Harvey’s Best, East Kent Golding’s Single Hop, Bombardier and Young’s Ordinary. At the rear of the bar area is another room that has some seating and there are plasma screens throughout that were showing a mix of American ten pin bowling and football highlights via Sky Sports.
The outside consists of some café seating out the front that is separated from the street by some waist high railings. There is also a patio area at the rear with some more café seating that is covered by a couple of heated jumbrellas.

This pub is a bit out of the way and not really worth a revisit.
