Moby Duck left this review about The Paris House

An interesting looking place, Black and White chequered tile flooring, comfortable seating, black and white photos of film stars of the past on the walls along with posters advertising upcoming live music.Three cask handles With Harveys Best and Dark Star Hophead available, the keg lineup was mostly premium Lagers. The background music was good at a sensible level, the chatter amongst the staff was in French, the whole place had a good slightly bohemian feel that I enjoyed.

As you would expect a French style cafe/bar but serving 3 real ales as well as food. Live music advertised.

Steve C left this review about The Paris House

The Juggler changed its name to the current moniker of Paris House a couple of years ago when it became a French café. Alcohol is still available as the bar supports four draught taps that, during my Tuesday evening visit last week, were squirting Kronenburg, Amstel, Murphy’s Stout and Symonds Cider. Surprisingly there are also two hand pumps, but the W J Kings Bridgton Blonde was off leaving Cidre de la Maison as a cask cider option. The food is obviously from across the channel and the menu consists mainly of cheese and light bites that seemed very reasonably priced. The décor is a little Café Rouge with a red hue and the walls of the stairs leading down to the toilets at the rear are wall papered with the newspaper Le Figaro. There are a couple of steps halfway up the interior that splits a rear seating area from the main front bar area. The background music was sedate and depressing and a TV behind the bar was showing a muted French film with subtitles. The staff were polite, but disinterested and half an Amstel set me back £2 which is a bit steep even for the expensive bars in Hove.

I wouldn’t go in here just for a beer again, but it is a decent enough setting for a spot of lunch if one is in a continental frame of mind.
