This is a pub on the ground floor and a Thai restaurant on the first floor, Mon-Sat 6-10:30. Concentrating on the pub aspects, this is a split level room thanks to the hill on which it is situated, semi divided by a half width etched glass screen. Boarded floor, pale green wainscoting, a few large pot plants, the bar is situated to the rear wall. Regular seating with banquettes, stools and standard chairs, carnations on the tables, décor includes a few pub mirrors with an example from the defunct Brickwoods Brewery being noteworthy, the main talking point however is the huge number of chamber pots as well as a few jugs and other articles suspended from the ceilings. I have posted a picture of these, the landlord and landlady being very accommodating in firstly agreeing to my photo and allowing me behind the bar to get a decent angle.
Bar food is available downstairs if you don't fancy a Thai, an A board outside advertised burgers and baguettes, a board also indicated Sunday roasts are offered. There was another bar menu on a chalkboard.
Two handpulled beers on, Hop Back Summer Lightning and Hepworth's Pullman.
Outdoor seating on a raised deck overlooking the North Laines valley, a recess under the stairs had a couple of games, Shut the Box and Jenga.
A perfectly comfortable and welcoming pub for a quick one, low volume soul/funk music giving a relaxed laid back feel and the beer was in good shape.

An eclectic interior with various items hanging from the ceiling. 3 real ale taps 2 on during my visit. Live music advertised. Upstairs appears to be sing-tong a Thai restaurant.
