Larger than it looks micro, it’s the brewery tap for Harrison’s brewery but also stocking guests. The fairly normal front area leads back to a sitting area with banquette seating, toilets are downstairs and there’s a garden area off of there. Decor is largely from old tools from various trades and there’s a lump of mysterious iron bolted to one wall, I later discovered (in GPO who also have one) that it was the frame from a grand piano.

NB This is not the Brew Shed in the reviews prior to 2018, that Brew Shed was in the adjacent building now "Georgie Design"

Double fronted micro with a garden access downstairs.

Good Beer Guide 2021 entry.

Busiest place found on a Saturday afternoon in Retford.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Brew Shed

Micro-pub, bigger than it initially looks, with more seating behind the bar, a downstairs room and some partly covered outdoor seating at the back. Three Harrison's beers in cask form - including the Vacant Gesture (£3.50) - plus a couple of keg versions and six other guest craft beers. Good, mixed crowd in.

A typical shop conversion micropub, but lives up to the "shed" in its moniker by featuring lots of tools: spanners and screwdrivers and drills, some arranged in patterns that spell out the pub's name, but mostly just in patterns. Other decor included some notices that look like they've been salvaged from an old brewery: the sort that say "this is the mash tun", "here is the pasteuriser", "this is where we take all the flavour out of the beer", etc. (Not the last one, obviously.) The staff and the other customers were friendly, welcoming and informal.

Four hand pumps on the bar (see photo) and my half of Shiny 4Wood Best Bitter was in excellent condition. I sat at a table which turned out to be a primary school desk exactly like one I would have sat at in 1965: I lifted the flap expecting to see pens, ruler, exercise books and a Philips World Atlas. The ink well was missing too.

A nice micro with four pulls of little locals beers majoring on Shiny, comfortable seating and pallet wood wall, old wood working tools as highlight decor, a mix of hipster and old git clientele.
