Exactly as described by Mr Fastard below. Friendly service and very well kept beer. The Wishbone Tiller Pin is now a permanent beer here. Sadly there were two "care in the community" knobheads in who kept playing their tinny, crap music on their phones. Pub Annoyances #234. Apart from that an excellent bar.

Right on the canalside and owned by the boatyard which runs the trip boats which start outside, this is an excellent ale house. There are large picture windows around the L shaped interior with a small bar by the entrance and fixed benches around the periphery. The internal decorations have a canal them ,including a large wall map of the entire route of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal which runs outside.A wood burning stove will warm the interior in cold weather.
On my visit the ale selection was from Rudgate Chocolate Stout,Wishbone Tiller Pin,Small World Twin Falls,Neptune Forecast and Bingley Cookie Crumble and Dr Rudi (NBSS 4.5).That's a decent mix of styles and I really should have stayed longer to sample the wares more fully. There are also some craft keg options too,and the service from the barmaids was friendly and efficient.
I really liked this place,a must visit when in Skipton.Rightly in the 2024 GBG.

Final bar of the night and another deserved Good Beer Guide entry. Bar at far end, and the open plan room runs in a L shape around the corner. Typical pubby furntiture.

Beer - a Marble Brewery Lagonda - in perfect condition. But I have come to expect this from Yorkshire.

10pm closer - so night owls can be prepared.

Visited last week. Six hand pulls at the bar, offering an interesting range including some strong ales (7-8%). Backed up by a selection of keg beers, for which there is a chalk menu above the bar.

In the corner furthest away from the bar there is a wood burner, which was in use at the time of my visit and made the place feel warm and cosy. Bench seating around the perimeter which was comfortable. Plenty of windows to look out at the views of the water. I found the service to be friendly and welcoming. I didn't see any sign of food being served other than the usual bar snacks, but that said I wasn't after a meal so I wasn't on the lookout.

Much as I was tempted by the stronger ales, I settled for the Tiller Pin by Wishbone, which may well be a regular ale based on the previous reviews. A half of this set me back £1.75 and was in top-notch condition.

A place I would seek out again when in Skipton, though I imagine it can get busy in the summer months.

The owner told us that this canal basin gets extremely busy during the summer, so luckily for us, visiting here, out of season. This is a very pleasant pub with large surrounding windows, which gave good views of the activities along the canal. There were five ales on handpump on our visit, which were Wishbone Tiller Pin, Bad Co Love over Gold, Salamander Dusk til Dawn, Settle No3 Porter and Wishbone N-Star-2. We went for the Wishbone Tiller Pin and Bad co, the latter was so good we stayed for another.

A small canalside pub. The interior is a curved room with the bar to the left. A friendly little place and food is available. There are 5 handpumps and beers were from Bad Co., Saltaire, Irwell, Settle and Wishbone today.

Decent pub next to the canal. Five real ales including one @ 5.2% ABV. Would revisit.

Cafe/ bar at the canal junction, obviously fitted out with canal boat style bench seating with tables and bollardish stools. The wood burning stove is decorated with bits of engine. Five pulls of mainly local beers. Big clear windows give views of canal and boats, there's also a towpath side patio. The tables have names not numbers, mine was Jim and next door was Rosie geddit? Decent beer though.

Another review from a visit in July 2016.

A Thursday afternoon visit just as the rain came down. This is Skipton's newest micro pub, well it's called a Micropub but it's really a cafe with 5 hand pumps, bottles of ale and wine on offer. I had a pint of Saltaire's Kardinal at a mighty 5.7%. All ales here are either £3.00 or £3.20 a pint.

Windows look directly onto the Leeds & Liverpool canal and there's a large seating area outside. Music playing and a fairly strong smell of food from the open kitchen to the rear of the bar.

Overall this is a pleasant cafe with a good selection of ales and a great canal side location.

Excellent bar in an excellent location, overlooking Skipton's canal basin. Staff were friendly. At three in the afternoon, it was busy, but every half an hour, the clientele changed. This was because the canal trips began and ended outside at that time. Two lovely ales tried, Goose Eye Black Moor, a dark mild and Blonde Bombshell. Both were excellent. A lovely location in which to watch the narrow boats, swans and ducks sail past. Loved it!
