Real Ale Ray left this review about The Fuggle & Nugget

Some micros have a small bar with a few handpumps, other trends are to have a cold room where the beer is straight from the cask on stillage. This micro uses the latter way of serving, which in my opinion is ok, but not the best of methods. Firstly the beer always seems to be served flatter and if you're sitting near the cold room, the constant opening and closing of the cold room door, becomes irritating. Plus if the pub is busy, service does takes a lot longer, rather than three pulls on a handpump, which is far quicker.
The quality of the beer here was top notch, but served too cold. We went for the Great Heck Chopper, which was ok when it warmed up and we also tried Half Moon Brewery Mr Pickering. Three ales and four ciders to choose from on our visit.

Aqualung . left this review about The Fuggle & Nugget

This is a micropub run along the recommended guidelines with no piped music and just selling beer, cider some wine and soft drinks. It's a rectangular room with just tall tables and benches. I was here at midday opening so it was empty but the owners were friendly.
Three beers were going on my visit Salopian Oracle, Rudgate Valkyrie and Boot Beer Tuffers Old. I went for the Tuffers Old (£3.20) which was in good nick.
This is a fairly typical micropub that I liked a lot.

Old Boots left this review about The Fuggle & Nugget

The last of the three new micro pubs in Burton, this one is at the far end of the High Street just past the Molson Coors offices and within spitting distance of the Bridge Inn. The serving system is chaotic when the pub is busy, you hang about just outside the cellar and someone will pop out to take your order and bring you the beer. There is high bench seeting down the sides with casks stored underneath. It has up to five beers and three ciders all listed on a board near the cellar, soft drinks, wine and cheeseboards are also available. The space is fairly generous for a micro, but otherwise a few of the usual hallmarks are there; filament bulbs, and pump clip decor. The gents has a converted keg as a urinal and a "witty" sign about lager which should appeal to any passing Camra dinosaurs, oh how we laughed. It's a bit of a mad place but nice.
