Alan Winfield left this review about Escabeche

Escabeche is a fairly new bar that is situated just off the busy central avenue.
I had my doubts about this place but thought i would give it a go,once inside i asked if i could just have a drink and a friendly barman said no problem.
The room is oblong shaped with the bar on the left side, there were a few bar stools where i sat and a couple of tables and chairs for drinkers, the larger right side is set aside for diners, there were a few diners and a couple of other drinkers in on my mid Saturday afternoon visit.
There were no real ales on the bar or even keg bitters, the friendly barman said there were three lagers and bottled Pedigree,i opted for the Amstel lager which i could remember drinking years ago when abroad, but this drink was not what i could remember it seemed very weak with almost no taste, the other keg lagers were Kronenborg 1664 and Estrella.
Apart from the drinks this place seemed quite a nice relaxed place to dine in or drink bland lagers.
