Visited back in March. The bar sports six hand pulls offering three ales duplicated - at the time of my visit I think these were Blonde, Slumbering Monk and Pale. As has been mentioned, from the front there are two different styles of building which gives the impression of two buildings being knocked into one. I went for the Slumbering Monk and it set me back £1.70 for a half. This is a traditional feeling old pub although you can never tell with Joules as they are great at making their buildings look olde worlde. The front room was fairly bare in terms of seating with various tables and stools dotted around; a further room had comfortable banquette seating. Dogs appear to be welcome, a beer garden was signposted, and snacks are available. The gents were a bit basic and smelly, but adequate.

Looking like two buildings knocked into one although not, and renovated with Joules’ usual careful hand, a splendid version of an old pub, internally it also looks like two buildings with a dividing wall. It was once the Phoenix Tap as mentioned on WhatPub, and has signage for Bains & Co though probably not original. The right hand room has a fishy motif while the left most part contains the counter and a mix of seating, casks as tables and a wood burner; its banquette seating in the fishy room. Six pulls but doubled up with Joules beers on this occasion, Blonde, Pale and the lovely Slumbering Monk, fortunately I’m a big fan of Joules so take that Ray. Great beer and friendly staff, I was less enamoured of the constant 1980s music.

The bar area is positioned over on the left of the entrance and had a display of six handpumps, four Joules and two guest. Luckily for me they did have a couple of guest ales on, as I am not a big fan of Joules beers. Still I do like the traditional style of their pubs, so this was definitely one of them. We took our beers to the side room opposite the bar, which had a half partitioned frame in oak, with etched glass as the entrance. This area had red banquette seating and lots of curiosities around the walls, along with some old suitcases from the old shop they have extended into. I went for the Mallinson's Kiwi Calpso, which was a refreshing and pleasant summer beer.

This pub has been completely renovated and extended by Joules brewery. It consists of a rectangular room with all the usual Joules features. The main bar area is a rectangular room and there is an area off it set out for dining.
The bar has six hand pumps which had the three regular Joules beers and the seasonal Shropshire Hop with guests being Welbeck Abbey Watermeadows and Big Hand Domino. I went for the Watermeadows which was in good nick.
While this one doesn't have the obvious age of the Titanic pub almost next door it's still a good place and well worth a look. It's GBG 2017 listed.

Excellent town pub with nice traditional interior and much brewery decoration. Extended through to the adjacent shop, which once sold luggage, which is displayed around the walls above some peripheral seating. Outdoor area to rear. Beers are from Joules, plus guests, and very good. Unclear what food is general available but Thursday night is sausage night!

A one roomed run of the mill town centre local with the bar to the left as you walk in and a raised area to the right. No real ale here but this is slightly compensated for with the cheap prices.

This is a smallish pub and i thought before i went in it would'nt sell any real ale but i was wrong there was one handpump which had Theakston XB this was a very nice drink and cheap.
There was only one room and this was very busy mainly with men.
There was no food on here and it was more of a locals pub.
