I have been in here before and didn't have a good memory of the place. It is a lot better with the bar to the right with two weakish real ales. Quite roomy inside but nothing spectacular.

A large corner free house establishment, close to the railway station. The interior is modern with a central bar, with a central island servery displaying a varied selection of spirits and wines. The bar counter was solid oak and hosted four handpumps with two in use. We went for the Full Mash Apparition and Dancing Duck Dcuk, both were in great shape. Another feature was the oak parquet floor as you entered form the corner entrance. The pub was respectable and had a good atmosphere in spite of its size.

Despite the rather tasteless modern refurbishment and bland music, there's obviously someone in charge here with an enthusiasm for real ale. There were four hand pumps that I noticed on my admittedly very brief visit (I had a train to catch) and three ales available. These were listed on a blackboard behind the bar, along with a mention of forthcoming attractions. My half of Navigation Golden was a little on the cold side, but I didn't have time to let it warm up if I was to catch that train. Maybe another time.

This pub was called the Erewash Hotel and was a Shipstones tied house.
The pub has been altered a lot inside there were some handpumps on the bar but only two working when i went in i tried a Nottingham brewery beer i think it was Rock Bitter and this was a decent drink.
