The public bar in here is a small room with a tiny bar counter, but which nevertheless managed to find room for four handpumps when I was in here at the weekend. The ales on were Doom Bar, Bass, Skinner's Cornish Knocker and St Austell Special. The Cornish Knocker was in fine shape. Food was available all day. The room itself is very nice, with an attractive brick fireplace, loads of nautical themed bric a brac around the place, is nicely carpeted and has several of those small round copper covered tables. Outside seating is provided on a terrace at the front of the hotel overlooking the harbour.

This is a lovely little bar, as is sitting on the terrace on a sunny day. Unfortunately I only had time for the one visit here.

This hotel is not in the Good Beer Guide, but shares a garden with the Harbourside that is in the 2010 guide. I made the mistake of entering through the wrong door into the restaurant, and was directed to the bar for the garden users. There were 4 beers available and we chose Sharps Special and Skinners Cornish Knocker, both in good condition. You can order food from menus from either establishment, and we chose the Pier House one as I was astounded to see Bubble and Squeak on the menu. Pricey at £8+ plus but I couldn't resist it, and it had chopped bacon in it and two eggs on top. It was so very tasty and filled the plate. A problem here is the gulls that land on the uncleared tables and scoff anything thats left, even drinking milk from the jugs of the coffee drinkers. Had to check that leftover milk is thrown away rather than reused, but they could certainly do with the tables being cleared more promptly.
