Alan Winfield left this review about The Pavilion

There isnt a pub called the New inn in stapleford. I think it is a pub called the New Kent. The New Kent used to be called The Pavillion and was built in the mid 80s it had quite a bad reputation which is why it was renamed the New kent this pub seems to be closed more than open now.

Update 5 July 2011

The New Kent has reverted back to its original name The Pavillion.

The pub has reopened yet again and has had a makeover and is now free from tie it used to be a Mansfield then Marstons tied house.
There are now real ales on the bar which is the first time for about 15 years,on a recent visit there were three real ales on with two from Nottingham brewery Nottingham EPA and Ledgend and Blue Monkey BG Sips.
I hope this new venture works out, this is the second pub in Stapleford to start stocking real ale in the last couple of months.

The Pavilion closed down last week,on the recent visits to this pub it has always been busy, but iceland wanted to knock the pub down to build a large store on the site,it seems this is now going to happen, yet another Stapleford pub to bite the dust, this one only lasted 27 years.
