Graham Coombs left this review about Commercial Inn

A big Victorian pub which looks great from the outside but inside has lost most of its historic features to a rather bland modernish facelift, possibly aimed at a younger clientele, with a bit of dark paint and a touch of recycled wood. There is a tabled courtyard at the rear. The beer range rescues it however, with 11 of 12 handpumps in use. The selection on this visit was Derby Mercia, Hogshead England's Glory, Little Critters White Wolf and Turtley Tropical, Sunnydaze IPA, Beermats Matte Black, St Austell Proper Job and a Cornish cider, along with three hangovers from the Greene King days - Yardbird, Fresh Legs, and Old Golden Hen.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Commercial Inn

This pub is now totally revamped and another good addition to Beeston's expanding pub scene. GK have gone and it's now a freehouse, hence the choice of 10 cask ales and 2 ciders. The young barman was welcoming and certainly had good knowledge of his beers. The interior was modern and spacious, including the beer garden. On handpump, Saltaire Blonde, Bradfield Farmers Pale and Cherry Beer, Castle Rock Black Gold, Hogs Back Tea, Beermats Matrix IPA, Acorn Burning Bails and Summer Pale, Drone Valley Brewery Coal Aston Porter and Morland Old Golden Hen.

Due to a popular local campaign, the commercial has remained open as a pub, still owned by Greene King, however, half of it has become an Indian restaurant. It now no longer looks like the main picture above as the entire outside has been painted battleship grey.

Looks like the Commercial has closed down and will probably reopen as an Indian. RIP.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Commercial Inn

Austere brick building, with an old-fashioned lounge on one side and a much larger opened-out bar area on the other combining two rooms and featuring a raised seating area with a central pool table. Several patio tables out in the rear yard. A few - very cheap - meals on offer. Just the commemorative Churchill (£2.60) from a bank of four handpumps on each counter. Very quiet on a Saturday lunchtime, and the sign on the façade notes that Greene King are looking for an entrepreneur to take the place on, so let's hope that things take a turn for the better soon.

The Commercial is a stern looking victorian pub that used to be a Kimberley tied house. It is now a Greene king tied house.
This pub has still got two rooms with the bar to the right and the lounge on the left this room is fairly smart there are a couple of real ales on here with Greene King IPA plus another beer from that brewery.
This is a decent enough pub to have a couple of drinks in.
