The Admiral Rodney is located in the Village of Calverton just out of the main centre. Calverton is a little short on pubs nowadays after some demolitions and changes of use so it’s good to see that one of the few they have left is a good one. It is an Everards tied how which is a rare find in these parts and they have done a nice job of sprucing the place up, I have never visited before but can tell they have tastefully refurbished it in a traditional style but with a modern twist, it was a very clean and pleasant place. There are three main rooms of the pub, a side bar with a few pumps showcasing some of the beers from the main bar, the main bar with the full range of bees as well as some tables and chairs and a side room with more tables and chairs. There is also a large room at the back of the pub that is for diners as they do a large amount of food trade. I like this feature as it means drinkers can still have a pub environment and diners can enjoy their meals. Diners can also order and eat in the main pub area if the wish. There was a good selection of real ales in the main bar that mainly consisted of Everards beers with some guests. On my visit there was the full core range consisting of Everards Tiger, Sun chaser, Original and Beacon and a seasonal beer three tigers as well as guest beers. The original was in good nick and averagely priced at £3.45 for strong ale. An all-round good pub that I can see attracting a large following, well worth a visit if in Calverton with the only gripe being you don’t have a huge option if you don’t like Everards beer but thankfully most like beer find it fantastic so not problems there.

This pub used to be an Home Ales tied house.
The Pub now looks quite smart from the outside and is now run by Everards brewery,it still has two rooms i went in the room on the right which is more like a lounge and i was very comfortable having a drink in here i tried the Tiger Bitter and this was a decent drink there were a couple of other pumps on the bar but i car'nt remember what was on these.
