Alex Conway left this review about The Rescue Rooms

A modern bar and music venue attached to rock city that often hosts live acts in different rooms and is attached to a nightclub called stealth. this is very much a hipster joint with dim lights and music always played. the bar does host three hand pulls and on my most recent visit early January 2020 three local offering s all from totally brewed featured Baby Shark pale ale (3.70) Crazy like a Fox bitter and Papa jangle stout. The beer is served in plastic glasses which really annoys me but there could be no quibble with the condition of the beer. Overall not the worst place in the world and you can get a decent beer late at night but its quite loud and there are a rather large amount of dick heads usually frequenting which gets tiring quite fast.

Use the left hand door to get in unless you want to pay for tickets to have your ears numbed. The bar is to the middle right and seating to the left. There were two sets of kegs, two real ales (weak) and three craft ales. I've been in worse.

This place used to be called Mortimers Cavern in the early 80s.
The Rescue rooms is mainly a live music venue which you have to pay to enter but there is a bar which anyone can go in like i did.
The pub is accessed by going through a courtyard, this looked very messy and the front windows near the entrance were filthy, once inside the room with the bar in it is to the left with the bar being on the right side of this room, the seating was mainly leather bench type in bays with leather chairs.
There were two pumps on the bar with one unclipped,i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest Pale which was ok but not at its best.
The bar opens at 5.00 PM on a Saturday and it was empty has i got in just after this,i was benig entertained by listening to an Oasis tribute band which was practicing in another room.
