Graham Coombs left this review about The Harrogate Arms

A fairly conventional large town pub which seems to be trying to cover all the bases and serve as a lunchtime venue, sports bar and circuit pub, in which it probably succeeds reasonably well. The large pubby bit at the front is perhaps a bit cluttered while the separate games area to the rear features darts and pool. Sports TVs are scattered throughout. There are some nice historic-looking features which may or may not be original. On handpump were TT Landlord, Theakston's Pale, Doom Bar and something labelled Banoffie Pie, although I couldn't make out where from due to bar blockers.

After many name changes and style, this pub is currently the Harrogate Arms. It's currently in one of its better guises. although still not great. It majors on sport and also has a couple of pool tables. It's a bit generic and I doubt that this will become a regular haunt as thee are many better pubs in Harrogate.

Reopened under yet another name, old customers will recognise the basic layout, furniture, the tiled & board floor and even some of the decor. Eight hand pumps serve mostly Yorkshire beers, Taylor's, Ossett, and York are represented along with old Rosie cider, there's also 12 keg taps of national brands. On the upper level of the three there are two pool tables, the botanical prints are still there but with extraordinary lighting over pool tables and indeed elsewhere, they may have used up most of the Edison bulbs in Harrogate. The lager tanks remain in situ but the pipework has gone, there's piped music, some big screens, and games machines. The food comes from well known Harrogate company Banger Bros - comprising burgers, hotdogs, sausages, 4 varieties of bangers & mash, including vegetarian options, all for under a tenner, usually well under. Tables are numbered with pub game themed beer mat shaped indicators rather than the usual inset brass discs.

Old Boots left this review about 11 Somerset House

The latest Harrogate venue to up its game, it's had a relatively tasteful makeover making it a bit nicer than some of its more recent ones, I've lost count of how many. There are still four hand pumps serving Timothy Taylors Landlord, Roosters Yankee, Saltaire Blonde and Ilkley Mary Jane, my Mary Jane was a touch stale during an evening visit. The bar is dominated by a tank of the Czech lager Krusovice with a pipe going from there to the bar counter, none of the usual UK national kegs were visible on the groups of keg taps. The bar is decorated in some traditional wood work and brass, local interest photos, a bit of grey woodwork and some rougher boards from before. At the back is a raised rear area laid out as a more formal dining area and decorated with plant pictures.

Split level bar that does what it says on the tin, 10 fonts of what no doubt will be called craft kegs and five pulls of cask beers, Theakstons, Roosters, Saltaire and Purity being represented, there are lots of US bottles from Samuel Adams, Anchor Steam, and Sierra Nevada plus a range from Brewdog and Meantime with a few from Europe, there's nothing very unusual in the kegs . It also sells a Swedish canned lager called Piston Head. Food is lots of burgers ordered on a build your own spec basis which can cause slow service if you just want a drink. Ribs and wings are also served, it's not McDonalds and the prices are accordingly higher (much).  The ultimate is the £20 dustbin burger  a man v food challenge served on a dustbin lid; if you eat it in 20 mins you get a free T-shirt. The layout is much as it was when it was Grape & Graze but the walls and counter front are covered with rough, chunky, wood planking, seating is suited to eating so it's tables and chairs in various styles. Each table has a tea light in a half pint handled mug, I knew there must be some use for these ugly objects. There's a pile of board games on the end of the bar and a rack of marvel comics, children are welcome and there's a menu for them as well. Beer quality is fairly good.

formerly No 19 and before that the Nags Head, now with a new makeover to a high standard and going a little more up-market. The basic layout is the same with a vertical drinking area in the middle although a few more seats have been included, the raised area at the back has comfortable seating and there are a few more discreet seating areas round the edges. The plank faced counter to one side has four pulls with Taylors and Black Sheep in good nick along with keg beers from Estrella, Hoegaarden, Leffe and Becks among the usual dross. The bottled beer list shows Brew Dog, Brooklyn and Goose Island. There are posh toilets in the basement.

Probably the biggest circuit drinking bar in the throbbing heart of Harrogate's tacky night life quarter. Various seating options; you name it, it's probably here, plus a fair amount of vertical drinking space. A long counter runs down one side and there are the various floor level changes you would expect. Two handpumps on the bar serving Old Peculier and Black Sheep Bitter which surprisingly rather than being rancid as expected was quite drinkable, not great but passable. Big screens and some machines, the service was a bit surly and the pricing at the higher end for Harrogate.
