The Canal House opened about 9 years ago in old warehouses.
This pub is a Castle Rock tied house and it is a bit different to most pubs i have been in.
Once you go in here you have to walk over an inlet of the canal there is a bridge for this and you can look down on a couple of narrowboats these are not here permanently they seem to come and go.
The pub has one very large room and the bar faces you as you enter there are 6 real ales on the bar with three from Castle Rock and three guest beers.
The pub is quite comfy and is warm in winter even though theres a canal in the room.
The beer quality is always good and the pub is popular with trendy 30 to 40 year olds at the weekend.
This pub is well worth a visit and we are quite happy having a few drinks here.

Note:If you have had too many to drink the toilets are up a lot of steps which are very steep.

Converted from a canal warehouse, it has a spur from the canal and two narrowboats actually in the pub. Loads of seating inside in several different areas plus a large canalside terrace outside. It's a Tynemill pub and so offers Castle Rock beers plus guest ales, genuine continental lagers plus a selection of foreign bottled beers. Also Tynemill's exellent 'one over the 8' cask ale promotion. Decent food served all day.

A Tynemill, Castle Rock brewery pub. Converted from a former warehouse complete with canal spur inside the pub, which can fit two narrowboats. Tables are arranged around with a bridge to access the bar, leading to an outside canalside decked area. Excellent selection of Castle Rock beers, with food served until early evening.
