Blandly modernised jack of all trades and master of none pub. On entering I mentally I said to myself “50p says this is Stonegate” and indeed it is. Inside is all whacked-through and thoroughly unmemorable though the parquet flooring is nice. Four cask on from national stagers, my Ghost Ship was lacking vim and died very fast (NBSS 2). Clientele 100% sausage of the Mockney variety. It's right by the station which is in its favour but I doubt I’d see need revisit given the frequency of transport.

Very handy for the station and mot a bad stab at a modern pub from Stonegate. A long one-roomer, with booths facing the bar at the front, darts in the middle and a quieter seating area to the rear with a small terrace outside. A fair selection of ales included a couple of rugby-themed (World Cup period) from Wolfpack and very nice too. I might have caught it at a good time, but I was quite happy here.

The Old Bank is a long thin pub with a long bar along the left had wall that extends to a seating area. Beyond this seating area is larger raised seating area and out the back door is a decked seating area with views across the adjacent Sutton Railway Station platform roofs. Plasma screens are located throughout the pub and Sky Sports is shown. The bar is stocked with San Miguel alongside the usual standard draught and I counted six hand pumps. These were drawing Courage Best, Greene King IPA, Bombardier, Abbot, Doom Bar and Morland Original. Cheap food is available, but I didn’t spot anyone eating during my visit on a recent Saturday afternoon.
This pub is handily situated by the station and is perfectly acceptable for a quick pint if passing, but I wouldn’t make this my final destination.

Thanks to the lady who was perusing the food menu by opening it fully out and propping it against the beer pumps obscuring 5 of the 6 clips. Actually they only represented 3 beers as they had 2 Broadside, 2 Bombardier, 2 OSH, and the same replicated on 3 more pumps at other end of bar, hmm, so 9 handpumps, 3 mainstream beers! A board to left of bar displays old clips indicating that Adnams & Fullers are the principle suppliers here. A modern, open plan pub immediately next to Sutton stn, layout offers a variety of booth seating and tall tables. Pleasant service, but beer served in warm glass straight from washer (it wasn't busy, so they couldn't have run out), dodgy ‘funk' soundtrack. More cons than pros for this correspondent.
