One of the most striking tudor style pubs in this lovely city, A sam smiths pub and cheaper than the average pub in the city, I would highly recommend any visitors to pop into this olde pub as a must see on a tour etc.

This is a fantastic looking pub on a crossroads just off the city centre , apparently it was the townhouse of a local bigwig before becoming a pub , There are 3 rooms down stairs and 1 up , locals seem to use the back room mainly , it was a lot cleaner and the beer better than my last visit (new manager)customers are a strange mix locals , tourists , old dears , couples , teenagers and micro skirted woman tottering around in 6 inch heels , all seem to mix happily , there is a much friendlier atmosphere than on my last visit , worth a visit

The exterior of this pub is great; mainly black timber and white render, with stone foundation.

The interior has been sympathetically restored, with the wood beam look. It is more or less open plan, with lots of wood partitions. There are old pictures and prints on the walls and fireplaces. Its a nice buidling and always seems popular, which Sam Smiths are, if only for the price of the beer.

Sadly, the Boot is far superior on the quality of its Sam Smith's beers. The Falcon seems to serve it a lot colder and therefore has less taste. The staff are generally a little less friendly.

I always visit the Falcon, as it isnt awful and i keep hoping it will get a little better. I only stay for one, whereas i stay longer in the Boot.

Nice pub, problem is they only serve sam smiths beer and that needs an acquired taste, but if you like sam smiths, you will enjoy this little old pub of chester

Chester Tourist left this review about The Falcon Inn

One of Chester's most interesting medieval half timbered buildings. A traditional oak beam interior with interesting history displays on the restoration of the building by the Duke of Westminster.

The Falcon is a nice looking black and white pub that is on the corner of a busy road junction in the centre of Chester.
This pub is a Samuel Smiths tied house and Once inside we went in a smartish and comfortable lounge, there was one real ale on the bar this was samuel Smiths Old Brewery bitter and this was a very nice drink.
We quite liked this pub.
