Will Larter left this review about The Fox Inn

A roadside inn in the small village that shares its name not only with the nearby Kelham Hall but also with a very well known pub in Sheffield's Kelham Island. There's a large car park to attract passing trade; I just chained my bicycle to a bus stop opposite. On entering a corridor leads to a large room with a bar on which I spied two hand pumps. But on the way in I had also spotted a snug, labelled Fox's Earth, which I retired to once I had obtained a half pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord (NBSS 3 - the alternative was Old Speckled Hen). The snug also had a bar counter, with a bell to attract service, so it's more like a private bar than a snug, perhaps. Whatever, it was quite pleasant in here with dark beams, old furniture and a collection of about 20 Good Beer Guides. Or it would have been pleasant if it weren't for the dreadfully annoying pop music coming from loudspeakers in the corners of this traditional old snug.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Fox Inn

Substantial pub / restaurant with two separate bars; one traditional and little larger than an oversized snug, the other more modern with a slightly raised dining area further back. Very extensive rear beer garden. Two real ales on handpump: Landlord and Rufford Poacher (£4.00).

The Fox Inn is a very nice looking white painted pub.
Once inside the pub has two seperate rooms, there is a small square shaped bar to the front, the lounge to the rear is larger and oblong shaped, this room is carpeted and has a beamed ceiling, there is a large raised area to the left, the seating is bench type and normal tables and chairs.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Doom Bar which was ok but nothing special, the other beers were London Pride and Old Speckled Hen.
This is a pleasant pub just a shame there was'nt one local beer on the bar.
