The Bath House is a Greene King pub that was empty at lunchtime on a Tuesday in June when the surrounding streets and roads were bustling with tourists. The TV was airing muted BBC News and there was some very low background music playing. There are a couple of small seating areas to the left rear and front, but the main seating area is to the right, faced by the bar that runs along the rear wall. The bar was supporting a few keg products, such as Amstel, Heineken and Peroni, as well as six hand pumps. These were drawing Greene King IPA and Yardbird, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Tiny Rebel’s Birra Colada and two real ciders from Lilleys, Peach and Tropical. I didn’t note the availability of food, but I’d be surprised is standard pub fayre wasn’t available.

A traditional town pub from the time of George III, based in a much earlier building terrace, currently owned by Greene King, which formed the first peon of our town crawl.  Ales on were GK IPA, Barmy Army, Starry Night, Gangly Ghoul plus 5 craft beers. The ales were in acceptable condition, maybe a bit too cold.  Staff were pleasant, most of the clientele were civilised and it was quite quiet given the time of the evening.  The food was the standard GK menu, rather uninspiring and lacklustre.  I'd be very happy to come back here and include in future crawls for its beer and atmosphere.

A surprisingly modern contrasting interior, but nevertheless it's functional, bright and airy. Maybe a better description is minimalist. The layout is mostly comprised of oak timbers, which includes the all the seating and high tables. A friendly and helpful barmaid on our visit. Six handpumps, with five in use, we went for the Notts Brewery Extra Pale Ale.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Bath House

Appealing-looking Greene King pub with a square bar plus another small seating / dining area in one corner. Refurbished with light modern furniture / decor scheme, which actually works quite well. Good range of real ale from the six handpumps - ranging from IPA and Old Speckled Hen, through the seasonal Fireside, Rocked Out and Belhaven Smoke Stack Stout to Lacon's Affinity as a guest - plus five craft beers from keg taps on the rear wall.

This is a pale green terraced Greene King pub that also does food. It is, i believe, a late Tudor town house, but has been clearley remodelled into a Georgian style at some stage, judging by the sash windows. It has a projecting upper floor and an attic level as shown by the dormer range in the roof. The interior has been knocked out to make an open plan, albeit irregular shaped room. The walls are green, with some patterned wallpaper, as well as a wood floor and it has many exposed beams. There is a TV (silent news), soft easy music and comfy chairs for seating. The service was friendly and the clientele, mature. The walls had local photographs on them. All-in-all a nice mix of traditional and modern, so should appeal to most. They do food, but i didn't eat so can't comment on that. Beer; usual tap stuff with GK IPA, Brentwood Gold, Milestone Rich Ruby and Butcome's Matthew Pale Ale. I was actually feeling somewhat unwell, but had to await the eldest Soupette, so I simply had a half of the Ruby, which was fine. I liked this place, it was just a shame i was feeling rough. I would like to revisit when feeling up to it.

Decent enough pub a few doors down from the historic Eagle , it is open plan in layout but was probally once a three roomed pub judging by the collection of ancient beams dotted around the place , the bar is straight on from the entrance and to the left is what was probally a back room , it has some unusual bench seats that could double has single beds , there are bar stools and shelves around the edges .
Usual keg taps plus Leffe and five handpulls , three from Greene King , IPA , Libertine and St Edmunds plus Bath Barnsey and Wolf Straw Dog which was exellent .
The staff were exellent , worth a visit if just to escape the crowds at the Eagle
