Very small Sheps pub, but its comfortable and cosy with panalled walls and square framed windows. The bar is in front of you as you walk in and then there are a few tadled areas to choose from with a couple outside in the plants! Nice little pub to visit, but very expensive for me (£3.50 a pint) and the beer was not quite to my taste (probably being a Midlander!) and not the best in this area.

There is much debate over London’s smallest pub and this is one of the usual suspects although the Swan & Edgar in Marylebone I believe is current incumbent of the title. It is however worth noting that the Cask & Glass did used to be much smaller than it now is – a metal pillar by the bar was apparently once the extent of the bar. The single room, carpeted interior does have an element of charm and despite the lack of bar space they do a good range of Shepherd Neame beers (Spitfire, Master Brew, Bishop’s Finger & the seasonal ale) at quite reasonable prices. On the walls are an assorted collection of prints, cartoons, portraits, old letters, clay pipes, mirrors etc and there is still room for a small plasma screen at one end. There isn’t a great deal of room to sit with a row of built in seating down one side and a ledge and a few stools down the other. You would need to get there early to bag either although there is some seating outside when the weather allows.

Whilst the pub appears to be well tucked away, it should be remembered that the modern buildings opposite stand on the site of the old Stag Brewery (closed 1959) and many of the surrounding buildings around here were either brewery buildings or workers cottages so its location doesn’t seem so odd when taking the area’s history into account. One little quirk that is sadly no longer relevant was that until just a few years ago they would only sell beer in half pint glasses. The reasons are open to conjecture – some say it was because they didn’t want to get the nearby Palace staff and guards getting drunk, others say there were no toilets on the premises so people had to keep going to the pub opposite to use their facilities. Whatever the reason, they now do pints and there is certainly somewhere to recycle them. Yes the place does get infuriatingly busy but it is nevertheless well worth a detour as it really is quite a neat little place.

This is one of the smallest pubs around, with only five small tables, a bit of banquette seating and a few chairs. It’s what you might call a tidy little pub – it’s carpeted, the walls are wood panelled and varnished a very dark brown. The walls are covered almost entirely by all manner of prints and stuff, as detailed by Roger below. Thankfully there’s no room for one-armed bandits or games machines, which is most definitely a big plus. I like this pub a lot – it’s a real pub, even if it’s a very small one. Luckily during my recent visit I got there early enough to bag a table and chairs for myself and the fellow pub enthusiasts whom I was meeting, but had I left it as late as 5.00 PM (and it was only a Thursday evening) I would have been out of luck. It certainly is a pub where vertical drinking is the norm, but there is a fair bit of space on the pavement outside for this.

Very small pub run by Shepherd Neame, so only had 4 of their ales on tap.On a nice day, the outside seating area catches the sun. It does get busy at certain times of the day.

A pub I always feel welcome in, small single dog leg shaped bar, always well kept Sheps ales (no Late Red sadly yesterday, my favourite ShN beer). Convenient for Victoria but enough off track to seem like a street corner local. Caricatures of various politicians adorn the walls plus various cartoons and a display of clay pipes. I wonder how many of the politicians were previous customers perhaps? Comfortable and homely, but due to its size is very easily busy.

The Cask and Glass is reputed to be the smallist pub in Westminster and with it being so small we did'nt get a seat inside so we stood outside watching the world go by.
As i did'nt stay inside i car'nt comment on that but the beers were very nice.
This pub is a Shepherd Neame tied house and i had a drink of Shepherd Neame Master Brew and this was a really nice drink.
I would have liked to visit the pub when it was quieter but i still enjoyed my drink here.
