it is many years since I have been here and I was somewhat surprised to find a stripped-back sports bar with an excess of wood: polished light wood floors, darker bar and wall panelling and a lot of rather solid benching covering the outdoor area. All sides of the U-shaped bar are dominated by sports TVs, while there is a pool table in one corner. Ales are restricted to Sharp's Atlantic and Doom Bar, the former in good condition at least.

An uninspiring pub, seems to be operating more as a sports bar, multiple tvs showing an FA Cup game, all were muted whilst some dodgy music was playing in the background competing for airspace with the only other punter in house chatting loudly on the phone in some east european language or other. Four handpumps but only a double act of Doom Bar and Atlantic available from the renowned Sharp's brewery, other than that it was lager city apart from my choice of half a Guinness, I won't be back.

A U-shaped boarded room with an elongated horseshoe bar. Sports heavy with TVs all around, there is a bar football table to the rear and around behind the main serving area, a pool table. I was in early lunchtime when there was only one other customer, I suspect it attracts a younger crowd later, the drug warning notices do not inspire. Mostly high tables but there are also some sofas, outdoor seating to the rear. Condiments suggest food is served but there were no menus out. The four handpumps were doubled up, Doom Bar and Long Man Long Blonde (£3.80) which was ok but way too cold.
There are many better pubs in Winchester.

I quite like the place in general, just the lavatories always seem to be a complete mess.

Good pub with light and refreshing feel to it, drinks range not that exciting but couple of real ales on.

A fairly modern yoof/sport hangout. – massive plasma screens hang precariously from every available wall. Surprised to see two ales offered (the Brakspears turned out not be available) my Summer Lightening was OK. Barmaid who served me looked thoroughly fed-up and didn’t really seem bothered about serving, which tallies well with other reports I’ve read of the place. Had a decent beer garden with a nice view, which made for a slightly more pleasurable 15 minutes than being near the sulky barmaid. Doubt I’d be motivated to return, to be honest.
