The Exchange, Winchester

An uninspiring pub,seems to be operating more as a sports bar,multiple tvs showing an FA Cup game,all were muted whilst some dodgy music was playing in the background competing for airspace with the only other punter in house chatting loudly on the phone in some east european language or other. Four handpumps but only a double act of Doom Bar and Atlantic available from the renowned Sharp's brewery,other than that it was lager city apart from my choice of half a Guinness, I won't be back.

A U-shaped boarded room with an elongated horseshoe bar. Sports heavy with TVs all around, there is a bar football table to the rear and around behind the main serving area, a pool table. I was in early lunchtime when there was only one other customer, I suspect it attracts a younger crowd later, the drug warning notices do not inspire. Mostly high tables but there are also some sofas, outdoor seating to the rear. Condiments suggest food is served but there were no menus out. The four handpumps were doubled up, Doom Bar and Long Man Long Blonde (£3.80) which was ok but way too cold. There are many better pubs in Winchester.
