A bland barn with a pool table at the far end. The amount of water stains on the ceiling was the main point of interest. The hard rock soundtrack clearly for the staff's enjoyment rather than the smattering of geriatric punters. Two Marstons cask, Bombardier and Lighter Nights, which smelt a bit alkaline iffy and tasted rank (NBSS 1). Didn't hang about – rubbish. 2.5

Visit was late afternoon late April, so out of season and hence not crowded My first visit I walked out following the Wetherspoon's style of people ordering umpteen types of coffee, multiple food etc Because I was in hotel just up the road, with only keg stuff, I gave it another go a day later, and had a very nice pint of Hobgoblin Being a Marston's pub you the food is as per their factory stuff, and the beers are same, but as I said my pint was good I found staff polite, neat and helpful Did not try the food
