A long thin place with views over the harbour and the Farne Islands but ironically not Bamburgh Castle. There is a rear second bar/ dining room without a view, well perhaps the car park and hotel entrance. The long counter is along the back wall opposite the big windows and banquette seating at round tables with proper chairs - not stools as it’s mostly a low end restaurant with beers. The tables incidentally groan under the weight of assorted menus, wooden boxes of condiments and a mini A board advertising live music. There’s an unpleasant level of foody smells. Three hand pumps but just one working initially with Hadrian Border Farne Island, two reversed but later turned round revealing Sharps Sea Fury and on the other Anarchy Bamburgh Blond, the Farne Island was actually in pretty good nick although it died quickly in the glass, still it’s an unexceptional bitter. To sum up, touristy diner in spite of the extreme dog friendliness.

Large hotel and family dining place overlooking the harbour. One long room is broken up into different areas in a fairly typical style, with the main bar at one end and an overflow bar at the other. There is a large and tidy tabled garden outside. Ales available were Black Sheep, Farne Island and Bamburgh Amber, in good condition. Not bad for where and what it is, I could happily drink here.
