The Tap House, Chesterfield

This is a Thwaites house, with three hand pumps all serving Thwaites beers when I visited. These were Lancashire Reign 5.2% and IPA 3.9%, both new to me, and Wainwrights. I had the IPA, which was well kept but fairly undistinguished. I've been here before on a Tuesday when no real ales were available, and was told that they make them available for the weekend but let them run off for the quieter days. This visit was on a Thursday, so presumably all three barrels were fresh. This is a pleasant enough pub as part of the Brampton Mile, but I wouldn't go out of my way just to visit this one.
