The Green Man & Blacks Head Royal Hotel, Ashbourne

The Green Man and Blacks Head Royal hotel is a large old pub that is on the busy main road through Ashbourne,the pubs sign looks quite nice as it spans the road and this sign shows the pubs full and proper name. When we first went in this pub it was a free house and there were two real ales on the bar we had a drink of Bass and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Greenalls bitter. On our second visit the pub seemed pretty much as it used to be and we went in a smartish lounge that was very comfortable,there was a lot of handpumps on the bar and we had a drink of Leatherbritches Ashbourne Ale which was a very nice drink,i also noticed Bass and Pedigree on the bar plus a few micro brewey beers. This was a decent pub and we were quite happy having a drink in here. Pub first visited 9/4/1985 Photo taken and second visit 7/4/2007
