Galton Arms, Droitwich

Old half timbered pub in a nice little village way off the beaten track , there is a small modern extension at the back housing the toilets and kitchen . The main entrance is at the back down a corridor which leads to the main bar , to the right is a cosy snug area with leather sofas , to the left is a small dining area with a narrow passage running behind the bar to another small dining area , the bar was once to rooms , you have to step through the remains of a beamed wall to get from one end to the other , duck if your over six foot but watch your feet the bottom beam is still there about six inches high , the floor is stone flagged and a bit uneven to the right is a patio door leading to a small beer garden , a large TV is on the adjacent wall showing cricket with the sound down . Upstairs is a games room with pool , darts and dominos . Service was friendly and the locals a chatty bunch , usual keg taps and four real ales , two from Marstons/Banks plus Woods Beauty and a very good Wye Valley HPA , overall a good country pub worth a visit .

beer excellent. farmers/locals shoulder to shoulder at the bar, but really good pint when you get one. staff friendly.
