Typical Fitzgerald's establishment next to the High Level Bridge. The interior is quite cosy and feels traditional with a long bar and a few different drinking sections, with toilets downstairs and a function room upstairs. Cask ales on were Fyne Ales/Siren Kelpie's Reflection, Fyne Ales Jarl, Two By Two Beetlejuice BIPA, Ossett/Castle Rock Solidarity, Anarchy Blonde Star, Darwin Two Aces Two Eights & Wild Sky, Rigg & Furrow Run Hop Run & Almasty Crooked. The cider was Thistly Cross Strawberry Cider. It's been quite a few years since I was last here, but I must try to visit a bit more often.

close to pub perfection, a stunning interior of several areas sectioned off with wood panelling. 9 ales on , had a fine pint of White Rat. basically a must visit if in Newcastle- i must make it back for a Monday folk club session at some point - it’s the pub that once inspired Luke Kelly after all.
