Three Wishes, Northwood

This large, single room JDW is carpeted and relatively quiet. It lacks any real character and is just a clone of soapy other, similar Spoons. There is an of collection of unexplained flags pinned to the ceiling but this doesn't really contribute anything. The staff were friendly and efficient while some of the benefit-funded locals were a bit scary. Maybe this was a Halloween gesture, or maybe they were just genuinely weird. Eight ales on, I had a pint of Exmoor Wildcat which was in excellent condition. I'd come back for the beer but that's about all.

This is a large Wetherspoons pub which has Abbot, Courage and Ruddles along with six guest beers available from the bar which runs along the back wall. There is a small area with some sofas and a plasma screen for fans of 24 hour news and the left hand wall is lined with book shelves for those who get bored of the tales of old drunken men. There is some seating out the front set back from the wide pavement but this is next to a busy road. I’ve been to better JDWs and would probably walk past If in the area again.
