George Hotel, Keswick

A large Jennings pub just off Keswick's main drag, the George's main attraction is the really nice old fashioned lounge, which is to the left on entering. There's a wooden partition and the door has glass panels in it. Inside there's a fireplace with arched inglenooks either side, and a really cosy feel with crimson paint on the walls and a similar base colour to the patterned carpet. The walls are adorned with a variety of interesting pictures. The bar is to the rear on entering, with plenty of space in front, on two levels, with varied tables and seating. Further to the right is a formal dining room. There are six hand pumps, with beers from Jennings and others from the Marstons stable. Definitely worth a visit.
