The Running Horse, Nottingham

This is an end terraced pub, with rear beer garden area. The pub has a rather plain brick upper, but a really great glazed tile lower frontage, in green and yellow, which will please Norwich fans. The interior is effecticely one open plan room, but the serving bar is reached by the negotiation of a few steps. The room is in white and red, with a wood floor and white ceiling. It is a rock venue, with the background music being played at a decent level. At the front, there is a pool table and posters are displayed on the walls. I didn't see a TV. Strangely, for a rock place, there were sofas and comfy seats, which looked a little incongruous. There is a stage area for bands to play. The service was ok, i guess, and the clientele consisted of a few youngish lads playing pool. Beer; usual stuff, with a poor Doombar on the handpull. We sort of left it half way through. Nothing wrong with the place - it is what it says on the tin, so to speak, but the beer left me thinking less of a running horse and more of a night mare.
