The Slug & Lettuce, York

Long narrow bar overlooking the river. 4 real ales and food served.

This pub is next to Ouse bridge and the river. Once inside here the pub goes back a long way the bar is on the left and there is a raised seating area to the right these seats overlook the river,most areas of the pub have bare boards and the place has a modern look to it. There were two real ales on the bar and i had a drink of York Guzzler and this was very nice the other beer was Black Sheep bitter. The pub was quiet on our sunday morning visit.Most customers in here were eating and we had a breakfast and this was very nice. This is not really a drinkers pub but drinkers are made just as welcome as diners.

It was nice to bump into an old friend in here Andy the manager we worked together in the good old days of scottish and Newcastle manage houses he runs a tight ship and the staff made people welcome is worth a look if its just for a pint and watch the world go by on the river
