The Towan Blystra (JD Wetherspoon), Newquay

It's been 6½ since my last visit to Newquay and I thought I'd make a repeat stop at this Wetherspoon's on the way back to my hotel late on Tuesday evening, mainly because I was still on the hunt for a meal. Food is served until 11pm. So I was in luck. Unlike the Red Lion where I had just come from, the Towan Blystra was relatively calm. Although it did get a little more boisterous after 11pm when other pubs had presumably thrown people out and they had retreated here. It's a fairly typical 'spoon's. This visit had none of the cleanliness issues of my last one when we'd occupied a table that looked like a bunch of crows had feasted upon. My dinner arrived quickly and accompanied my pint of Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon nicely. Real ales were the usual Sharp's Doom Bar & Greene King Abbot alongside Greene King IPA, Bays Topsail, Peerless Full Whack, Tintagel Caliburn & Burton Bridge Stairway to Heaven. I rounded my evening off nicely with a half of the Caliburn whilst watching some of the Newquay youth arrive.
