Slug & Lettuce, Leeds

Yates's is situated quite close to Leeds train station. I was well pleased to get in here after a long journey up from Nottingham on a National Express bus. Once inside there is a fairly large oblong shaped room which runs the width of the pub,the bar faces,there is some comfy bench seating to the left with normal tables and chairs elsewhere plus a few tall tables and stools. There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of GK IPA which went down very quickly,it was also ok,the other beer was Hobgoblin. The pub was quite busy on my mid Saturday morning visit,with most people having the cheap breakfasts which looked quite nice. Very loud background music was playing which is not a problem for me. I have no problem with Yates's these days,it solved two problems very quickly for me. Pub visited 8/11/2014

One of two Yates's in the city centre, but this one doesn't even have the benefit of being housed in an interesting building. Covered with adverts for cheap food and drink offers, which obvious work as they enticed me in to get a plateful of sausages and mash at just £1.99 under their 'Monday Madness' promotion. Usual anonymous furniture/decor and slightly edgy atmosphere inside. Just Bombardier (OK, and keenly priced at £2.35) available from the three handpumps.
